April 2009

rollingTheo is on the verge of rolling over. In the pictures you can see Theo, cheered on by his Daddy, almost rolling over. He’s also got some great head control and pushing himself up. What a cutie pie! Theo also chats with us regularly, not really sure what he’s saying, but we’re glad to listen to him just the same!

Freddy can now snap his fingers! Yay! He’s so proud he’s show anyone who listens including Grandparents, (not even his) servers in restaurants, and strangers in the grocery line. This is  a huge step, next up trying to wink, without holding his eye lid.

Stephen can whistle, sort of. He whistles using his tounge and teeth and it’s very quiet, unless you are trying to listen to a 3 year old talking while a4 month old is chattering. He’s very proud and practices  his skill A L L   T H E   T I M E! Another big milestone for Stephen is a bit too much information but here goes. He came running outside  today and told me he pooped without getting naked! You see when Stephen was youngish and newly potty trained, he would use the restroom independantly, but felt the need to divest himself of all clothing in order to poop. Maybe his shirts were too long, or maybe he couldn’t quite climb on the toilet with his pants one but whatever the case, we’ve know for a while that he is naked when he poops. We’ve encouraged him for a while to put some clothes on, and now he finally has!

Lynese has a few milestones as well or maybe just learned some more stuff about life. Turns out there is a bourbon called “Rebel Yell”, now so much country music makes sense! (I learned a while back that be- donk-e – donk means butt, maybe I should stick to the Beach Boys music for this California girl)

Enjoy the pictures, some are from the preschool program I teach and some are of our cutie pie Theo!

Two of my dad’s sisters came out for the weekend. We had a great  visit. My arms got a break from all that baby holding. I’m not complaining, I love all our babies, it’s just nice to share the wealth every once in a while. Aunt Mary and Aunt Martha came out from California for the weekend to visit the Colorado relatives. We had dinner at my parents house on Friday night, where the Aunties spoiled our boys with cool soccer balls and puzzles, not to mention cool surfer boy wear. On Saturday everyone came down and hung out, and let’s face it, the kids are way cooler that we are, so we split and let the Aunties and Grandparents enjoy their time with the kids. Michael and I escaped to the movies and caught the movie “The Soloist”. On a side note I really liked the movie, not a typical hollywood type, a good thoughtful movie. Turns out the big boys both took two hour naps and Theo cried for exactly 8 minutes. Everyone had a good time! Enjoy the pics.

A while back I commented that Michael and I are of 2 different religions, he believes in ornament hooks and I do not. For the record I found what I hope was the final christmas ornament hook in the rug, March 20! Turns out he hates the easter basket grass. I am not sure why, it’s purple it pretty much blends it with everything around here. I  hardly notice it, and it doesn’t stab you in the foot like the hooks! Oh well, we manage to get by somehow!

Theo is a big 4 months, he’s weighed in at 17 lbs and 15.5 oz!  Still the smallest of the bunch, but only by a few ounces. He measures longer, but that measurement is taken while lying down and these babies are so wiggly. I’m not sure I totally trust that one.  He’s smiling, grabbing his feet, and just today he rolled over on to his side, all by himself! Everyone clapped for him which really only startled the poor guy, he knew what he was doing. We’re thrilled of course. I’ve included pictures of him at 1, 2,3, and 4 months.

The big news is that we are putting him in his own room tonight. We’ve kept him in our room until now. We’re a little more reluctant to let him go for a couple of reasons. With Theo being our 3rd we know how fast it all goes and are trying to savor every moment, having forgotten so many moments with our first two already! When did Freddy get his first tooth? Did Stephen ever roll all the way over or just stand up and run? We’re still undecided, but Theo maybe our last baby, so apart of us is hanging on to each baby moment a little longer. My sister in law was impressed I’ve managed  to take pictures of my 3rd baby, but when you think this is it, I’d better take some  pictures to remember, it’s pretty easy.

It’s time to let him sleep in his own room at night. Stephen and Freddy moved out around  3 months. Let’s hope I get some sleep tonight.

Freddy: Mom that’s a roomer car.

Me: Really, a rommer car.

Freddy: Yeah it goes vroom vroom!

Well what can I say, but “yes it is a roomer car!”

I checked out a book from the Library called: Theo and the Blue Note. I was very proud of myself for finding a book with Theo’s name in it that didn’t have to do with a former president. (And yes we’ve read books with the other boy’s names, Freddy the Frog and so on.)Stephen was looking at the book and said: “hey Mom this is wrong, Theo doesn’t begin with a T, it begins with an F, F ffffff Feo mom it’s Feo. ” You see phonics isn’t always the best for learning, Stephen doesn’t say the TH sound yet on all words. I even tried to show him and tell him where to place his tounge, he’s just not there yet. Too funny!

As a busy mom of 3 boys, I took no pictures worth publishing of Easter, the snow pictures will have to suffice. We had a great Easter. Things got going on Friday when we received a package from Aunt Lea filled with Easter goodies. On Easter morning, the big boys woke up and came to my room to cuddle and watch cartoons while we waited for Daddy to come home. We were surprised by all the snow we received EAster morning, but it felt cozy. It was no small task to wait 30 – 40 minutes for Daddy, but we made it. As soon as we realized Dad was home we dashed down the stairs and collected Easter eggs before we even looked in our Easter baskets! We had lots of eggs to find inside the house and the boys got a soccer ball and goal. They got some baseballs too. The dogs chewed up the ones from last year, so good thing the EAster bunny thought to bring them! Daddy cooked a fabulous french toast. We hurried off to mass, but we didn’t last the whole mass.

After some lunch and naps we headed up to Mimi and Pa’s. Aunt Mary and Uncle Ed had cool stuff for the boys, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, and of course candy! They even made jello eggs for the boys, we’re still enjoying those! Freddy would blow bubbles everywhere if I’d let him. Mimi had hidden even more eggs around the house, so more fun. Pa cooked an awesome ham. Being the ever indulgent grandparents, after dinner they tried out their sidewalk chalk on the cement walls of the basement. With our snowy/rainy weather we couldn’t take the chalk  outside. Theo was great! He smiled at everyone. We had a great day, made even better surrounded by family.

The snowy pictures are from last week. Enjoy!
